With the exception of the MULTITEL MX270 and recently introduced MX290EX, all the models of the MULTITEL MX range are designed to be mounted on 3500kg GVW chassis cabs. The MX270 has been designed to be mounted on a chassis cab of a GVW of 5.6t or 7.5t, but for the UK market the 7.5t chassis is utilised as the better option. It can also be mounted on a 4x4 chassis with stright line outriggers.

The MULTITEL MX270 offers 13.3m of working outreach with a full 225kg in the cage. With a 90 degree each way cage rotation facility, the unit has shown to be ideal for tree work (where a narrow end-on cage entry into a tree is possible), and for a wide range of tasks where space is limited and the platform needs to work over  or between an obstacle.

Today, two options of the MX270 are available. The standard MX270 with its "fold-out" rear outriggers as shown above, or the MX270EX with inline front outriggers and "H" frame outriggers at the rear. The MX270EX offers two working envelopes, one with all four outriggers inline with the chassis, and one with the rear outriggers extended. Both envelopes offer 225kg cage capacity.

In transit, the MX270 is the same width as many competirors 20m platforms mounted on 3.5t GVW chassis cabs with "A" frame outriggers. With outriggers deployed on the Mitsubishi Canter 7C18, the MULTITEL MX270 is likewise the same width as many 20m competitors.

THE Multitel MX 270 has proved to be extremely popular in the UK. With over 27m of working height, 13.3m of working outreach, and a payload of 225 kg this has been shown to be an ideal platform for many situations. Cage rotation of 90 degrees each way means the cage can be rotated in line with the boom offering a very narrow profile to pass through a narrow gap between structures or when working on trees and similar tasks.

The Multitel MX290EX has been developed from the highly succesful MX270. Introduced in 2011, the MX290EX pushes the boundaries of truck mounted platforms on 7.5t GVW chassis cabs. This model offers up to 14.8m of working outreach and up to 29.2m working height.

Like the MX270EX, the front outriggers of the MX290EX remain in line at all times. The 290EX has "H" frame outriggers at the rear, which even when fully extended are no wider than the "A" frame type outriggers of many 20m 3.5t working height offered by our competiors.
